Miłka Zaleska is a Poland-born emerging artist whose practice centers on the ongoing exploration of clay’s expressive potential.

Working primarily with the wheel, her forms are guided by soft silhouettes and refined textures - balancing function and quiet sculptural presence.

Her time in Aotearoa deeply shaped her approach to ceramics, including an apprenticeship with New Zealand master potter Peter Collis. This experience grounded her practice in traditional techniques and studio discipline, further shaping her artistic vision and process.

In 2024, she was selected for the UKU Clay Awards exhibition in Hawke’s Bay, celebrating innovation and excellence in New Zealand ceramics.

Miłka collaborated with Mecca Brand on two bespoke collections, where she created unique ceramic works that seamlessly blended artistry and contemporary design, reflecting the brand’s ethos and vision.

Recently, studio has relocated to Copenhagen, where she focuses on expanding practise and study of sculptural bodies.
